Dr. Yoon specializes in providing comprehensive orthopaedic fracture care and joint replacement in both the upper and lower extremities. He also treats a variety of general orthopaedic conditions including meniscal tears, cartilage damage, osteoarthritis, inflammatory arthritis, osteonecrosis, avascular necrosis, limb length discrepancy and malalignment.
Dr. Yoon is originally from New Jersey, attending the Bergen Academies and then Trinity College, earning a B.S. in Biochemistry.
Prior to medical school, Dr. Yoon completed a two-year orthopaedic research fellowship at the Center for Hip & Knee Replacement at Columbia Orthopaedics, launching his passion for orthopaedic surgery and research.
He then attended Rutgers New Jersey Medical School continuing his medical training and furthering his orthopaedic research and training. After medical school, Dr. Yoon completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency in New York City at the prestigious NYU-Hospital for Joint Diseases. During his final year, he was selected as one of the Executive Chief Residents and was awarded both the Ralph Lusskin Senior Resident Teaching Award and the Resident Research Award for his dedication to orthopaedic care, education and research. His efforts here also led to being named as an AOA Resident Leader, being identified as one of the few rising stars in orthopaedic surgery.
Dr. Yoon then went on to complete a year of combined fellowship training in both Orthopaedic Trauma and Adult Reconstruction at Orlando Health, one of the highest volume orthopaedic centers in the United States.
Dr. Yoon was also selected as one of the AOTrauma Davos Fellows, attending the prestigious Masters Courses in Davos, Switzerland.
Dr. Yoon has an interest in treating fractures and arthritic pain with both non-operative and operative interventions.
He provides comprehensive fracture and joint care in all areas of the body, including the clavicle, shoulder, elbow, wrist, pelvis, hip, knee and ankle.
He is dedicated to the orthopaedic field and has already published numerous peer-reviewed articles, book chapters and books along with several presentations on the national and international level. This enduring dedication to the field has earned his status as an American Orthopaedic Association (AOA) Emerging Leader.
He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), the Orthopaedic Trauma Association (OTA), the American Association of Hip & Knee Surgeons (AAHKS), the AOTrauma Foundation, and the Foundation of Orthopaedic Trauma (FOT).
Dr. Yoon currently lives in New Jersey with his wife. He currently sees patients at 3 locations in Hackensack, Jersey City and Livingston, NJ.
