
- Pediatric Ophthalmology
Dr. Origlieri received her undergraduate degree from New York University graduating manga cum laude with a degree in Fine Arts. She completed her internship in internal medicine at Georgetown University followed by her ophthalmology residency at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School (now Rutgers). After residency she completed a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC, the oldest fellowship program for pediatric ophthalmology in the country.
Upon completion of her training, Dr. Origlieri remained on staff at Children’s National Medical Center for three years as a pediatric ophthalmologist, where she was responsible for clinical and surgical training of fellows and residents as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and Pediatrics at the George Washington University. Dr. Origlieri has particular interests in pediatric intraocular surgery, including childhood cataracts, and strabismus surgery, amblyopia, pediatric eye trauma, and retinopathy of prematurity. She has authored six peer-reviewed journal articles and two textbook chapters, and has presented at national and international meetings. Dr. Origlieri is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.
